Come See Beauty and The Beast With Us!
This movie looks amazing which is great because, during special showings, guests are free to laugh, talk, move around and be themselves!
Southern Maryland has a large community of families with children who have special needs and love movies! Many of these families are unable to attend a movie because of sensory issues such as light and sound sensitivity, trouble sitting still or staying quiet. With “Special Showings for Special Needs,” families can enjoy a screening of a new film with lower volume, higher lights in a judgment-free zone where guests can fidget, make noise and move around. While concessions will be open, parents are welcome to bring snacks and drinks if their child has special dietary restrictions. This is a great opportunity for parents with young children who are unsure if their child is ready for a real movie theater experience. Guests do not have to have special needs to attend the showings! Special Showings for Special Needs are the first of their kind to be presented in St. Mary’s County. The series is offered by R/C Theatres in partnership with The Promise Resource Center. Groups are welcome and encouraged to contact The Promise Resource Center in advance by calling 301-290-0040. Visit thepromisecenter.org/specialshowings for more information.
The price of the Tuesday showings at the R/C Theatre in California is $6.50 per person. If you can’t catch the movie on Tuesday, the theater will be playing another Special Showing on Saturday (3/25) at 10am. The cost of the Saturday showing is $8.00 per person.
